Here's how West Bengal govt plans to tackle cyber crime

Kolkata, July 21: To counter the rising threat of cyber crime across the state, the West Bengal government will be setting up a cyber security centre, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said on Wednesday.

"The state government has decided to establish the West Bengal Cyber Security Centre of Excellence (WBCS-CoE) to deal with increasing cyber-offences in the State.

"It will be an apex body for dealing with all cyber-security related issues including creating awareness among common people on threats associated with it," said Banerjee.

Mamata Banerjee also said courses on "Data Science" and "Cyber-Security" will be introduced in colleges across the state, to increase employability of students.
