Here is how South Koreans are related to Ayodhya

Ayodhya, Mar 4: You will be surprised to know that hundreds of tourists from South Korea pay a visit to holy city of Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh every year.

These tourists come to the city located on the bank of river Saryu to pay tributes to their legendary queen Hur Hwang-ok.

South Korea’s Ayodhya connection

If we go through the history, queen Hur Hwang-ok also known as Princess Suriratna went to South Korea and married King Kim Suro of Karak Clan in 48 AD.

Around 60 lakh people of the Karak clan consider Ayodhya as their maternal home.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also emphasised to strengthen the linkage of Korean people with Ayodhya during his visit to the country in May last year.

A South Korean delegation also met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister on Monday and discussed the proposed memorial of the queen Hur Hwang-ok.
