Hemant Soren's Swearing-In Ceremony: Authorities Direct To Close Schools In Ranchi To Avoid Traffic Congestion
Schools in Ranchi will remain closed on November 28, as per the directive from the District Education Officer. This decision aims to prevent traffic congestion and crowding due to Hemant Soren's swearing-in ceremony as Chief Minister. The closure is intended to ensure smooth proceedings during this significant event.
Hemant Soren's alliance, led by the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), secured a second consecutive term in Jharkhand. They won 56 out of 81 assembly seats, overcoming the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), which managed only 24 seats. This victory marks a significant achievement for Soren and his coalition.

Political Leaders Expected at Ceremony
Several prominent leaders from the INDIA bloc are expected to attend the swearing-in ceremony. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Rashtriya Janata Dal's Tejashwi Yadav are among those likely to be present. Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal may also attend, according to a senior Congress leader.
On Tuesday, Hemant Soren visited Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi. It was his first visit to the capital after securing his alliance's second term. During this meeting, Soren extended an invitation to Modi for the swearing-in ceremony. "Met Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji in Delhi today and invited him to attend the swearing-in ceremony of 'Abua sarkar' (our government) on 28th November," Soren shared on X in Hindi.
JMM's Historic Win
The JMM contested 43 seats and achieved its highest-ever tally by winning 34 of them. The Congress secured 16 seats, while RJD won four and CPI (ML) gained two within the INDIA bloc. As part of their arrangement, RJD might receive one ministerial position in the new government.
The upcoming swearing-in ceremony is set to be a significant political event with various influential figures expected to attend. The closure of schools is a precautionary measure to ensure that everything proceeds smoothly without any disruptions caused by traffic or large crowds.
