Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren's Age Discrepancy Controversy: JMM-BJP Lock Horns

Himanta Biswa Sarma, who is co-in-charge of the BJP for the Jharkhand assembly elections, has criticised Chief Minister Hemant Soren. Sarma stated that it is up to the people of Jharkhand to remove Soren from his position. He accused the JMM party of being deceptive and claimed that Soren's age has been falsely increased in official documents.

Sarma further alleged that the current government is composed of infiltrators and warned that no community would be safe if they remain in power. He also criticised Congress MLA Irfan Ansari for making derogatory remarks against the tribal community, noting that no action was taken against him. According to Sarma, this government represents individuals like Alamgir Alam and Irfan Ansari, and it is crucial for society to defeat them.

BJP's Claims on Age Discrepancy

The BJP has made significant allegations regarding Hemant Soren's age, claiming he has added seven years to his age over five years. This accusation adds another layer to the ongoing political tensions in Jharkhand as the state gears up for its assembly elections.

Earlier, Himanta Biswa Sarma met with former minister Satyanand Jha. Jha had filed his nomination as an independent candidate from Nala after not receiving a ticket from the BJP. Sarma requested Jha to withdraw his nomination and support the BJP in the upcoming elections.

Satyanand Jha's Response

Satyanand Jha mentioned that Sarma approached him just hours before the deadline to withdraw nominations. Despite this meeting, Jha stated he remains a candidate in the election and will decide on any changes only after consulting with his supporters.

Nala is one of 38 constituencies where voting is scheduled for November 20 during the second phase of elections. The political landscape in Jharkhand remains dynamic as parties strategise for these crucial polls.
