'Namaskara Kudla': Shah Rukh Khan Speaks Tulu, Wins Hearts In Mangaluru

Shah Rukh Khan, who was in Mangaluru on Thursday, drove the crowd crazy after he greeted them in Tulu language.

The King Khan was in the coastal town to take part in 'An Evening with Shah Rukh Khan' at Adyar Garden in Mangaluru on Thursday evening.

Addressing the huge crowd, the 60-year-old star said, "Namaskara Kudla... Encha Ullar?" (rough translation: Hello Mangaluru... How are you doing?). His gesture thrilled the crowd who had assembled at the venue since 3 pm. Notably, he ended his speech by saying "Preethi Uppad" (Spread love).

Khan recalled that his grandfather was an engineer at the Mangaluru Port. "I don't recall much from those days, but I do have some old photographs of this place," he said, holding them up on stage. This is his first visit to Mangaluru since he became a superstar.

"Mangaluru is the city where I spent part of my childhood. Returning here has brought back wonderful memories, and God willing, I hope to create many more," he said.

"It is a beautiful city. From the moment I landed at the airport until stepping onto this stage, I have been showered with love. I enjoy being here, especially relishing Neer Dosa," he said.

While praising the city's vibrant culture, he pointed out how many Mangaloreans have made Mumbai their home.

During an interactive session, Shah Rukh revealed that if not for actor he would have probably loved to be a teacher at St. Aloysius or Mount Carmel.

The Bollywood superstar also stated that he would like to visit regularly.

On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan is currently busy with his next movie King, directed by Siddharth Anand. It reportedly has his daughter Suhana in a key role.

Also, Abhishek Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Arshad Warsi, and Rani Mukerji are part of the cast.

The Hindi movie is scheduled to be released on December 24.
