Heavy rains lash Pune; traffic out of gear
Pune, Nov 23: Heavy unseasonal rains lashed the city and suburbs, inundating low-lying areas and throwing traffic out of gear.
The streets were flooded last night following incessant showers that disrupted vehicular traffic in many areas even as gushing rain waters entered some residential societies in low lying areas.

The city recorded 90mm rain in the last 12 hours, the MET department said today.
The wet spell in the winter was result of the depression formed over the Arabian sea and it was expected to continue for the next 48 hours, accompanied by thunderstorm, it added.
The catchment areas of the four dams supplying water to the city too received good rainfall augmenting the storage, officials said.
The city is currently facing water shortage with alternate day supply following a deficient monsoon this year.
