Heavy rainfall forecast in Odisha
Bhubaneswar, Sep 13: Heavy rainfall coupled with gusty surface wind is expected to lash several places in Odisha due to a low pressure area over Bay of Bengal today.
The low pressure area over west central Bay of Bengal and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal persists over the same area and the associated cyclonic circulation extends up to mid-troposphere level, the meteorological centre said today.
Under its influence, rain or thundershower may occur at many places over south Odisha and at a few places over north Odisha.
Heavy rainfall would occur at one or two places over South Odisha, the MeT centre said.
Gusty surface wind with speed from 35 to 40 kmph blowing at up to 45 kmph from northeasterly direction would prevail along and off south Odisha coast, it said and advised fishermen to be cautious while venturing into sea.
