Bengaluru: Heavy rain, IPL game throw traffic out of gear
Bengaluru, Apr 13: Traffic snarls were the order of the day in Bengaluru city as heavy rains lashed several parts of the city on Monday.
Thousands of spectators who came to watch the IPL game between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at M Chinnaswamy Stadium parked their vehicles heedlessly on the roads, bringing traffic to a standstill by night.

Hours to cross half-a-kilometre stretch
There was a complete gridlock after 11.00 pm in the area when the IPL match was about to end. Many commuters, including women and children complained that it took hours to just cross a half-a-kilometre stretch.
Traffic movement on many part of city was disrupted after the rain.
In another incident, a car lost control and rammed into the roadside pole causing traffic chaos. Traffic on both directions was disrupted for more than an hour while the traffic police tried removing the pole.
Though no casualties were reported, traffic movement to the stadium and airport were the worst hit.
For the past two days, the city has witnessed rain in the evenings.
The city saw widespread waterlogging despite claims by authorities of having completed all works.
The weatherman has predicted more rains tomorrow with temperature oscillating between 26 and 35 degree Celsius.
