Heavy Rainfall in Jaipur Causes Major Disruptions to Daily Life

Heavy rains hit the city on Wednesday evening, disrupting normal life in many areas of the state capital. Several parts of the city experienced traffic jams with long queues of vehicles due to waterlogged roads. Complaints of waterlogging came from various parts of the city.

Jaipur Rain Disrupts Life

The rainfall started in the evening and lasted for over an hour. People had to wait for hours to get through the traffic jams, which were seen on JLN Road, Tonk Road, Sikar Road, and other areas. Rainwater also accumulated in some underpasses, including Malvia Nagar and Arjun Nagar underpasses, affecting vehicle movement.

Weather Forecast for Eastern Rajasthan

A meteorological department spokesperson mentioned that rainfall is expected to increase in some parts of eastern Rajasthan in the coming days. According to the Jaipur Meteorological Centre, moderate to heavy rains are likely in parts of Jaipur, Bharatpur, Kota, and Udaipur divisions over the next two to three days. During this period, heavy rains are possible at one or two places in Jaipur, Bharatpur, and Kota divisions.

From Wednesday morning until 5:30 pm, Alwar recorded 32 mm of rain, Karauli 12 mm, and Sangaria 0.5 mm. However, some cities in Rajasthan continue to experience high temperatures. The maximum temperature recorded in Sri Ganganagar on Wednesday was 44.6 degrees Celsius, making it the hottest place in the state.

Temperature Variations Across Rajasthan

Similarly, Bikaner recorded a maximum temperature of 42.6 degrees Celsius, Sangaria 42.3 degrees, Fatehpur 42 degrees, Jaisalmer 41 degrees, Phalodi 40.4 degrees, Churu 40.1 degrees, Barmer 40 degrees, Pilani 39.3 degrees, Sikar 39 degrees, Jodhpur 38.9 degrees, and between 37.8 and 31.1 degrees Celsius at other major locations in the state.

The weather department noted that Tuesday night's temperature ranged between 32 and 22.4 degrees Celsius across most parts of the state. In Ganganagar, the night temperature was recorded at 32 degrees Celsius, which is 4.1 degrees above normal.

Weather Outlook for Western Rajasthan

The spokesperson indicated a strong possibility of light to moderate rain and strong winds in some parts of the Bikaner division of western Rajasthan over the next 48 hours. The weather is expected to remain mainly dry in most parts of the Jodhpur division for the next three to four days.

In conclusion, while heavy rains have caused significant disruptions in the state capital and are expected to continue in eastern Rajasthan, high temperatures persist in several cities across the state.
