Heartbreak Heist: Noida Businessman Falls In Love With Woman On Dating App, She Dupes Him Of Rs 6.5 Crore

A 45-year-old businessman from Noida, Daljit Singh, has fallen victim to an elaborate online scam, losing approximately ₹6.5 crore.

In December 2024, Singh met a woman named Anita Chauhan on a dating app.

Over several months, their relationship deepened, and Anita introduced Singh to investment opportunities in online trading platforms, claiming substantial returns with minimal experience required.

Encouraged by an initial profit of ₹24,000 from a ₹3.2 lakh investment, Singh became more invested. He transferred a total of ₹6.52 crore across 35 transactions into various bank accounts provided by Anita, even securing a ₹2 crore loan to fund these investments.

The situation took a turn when Singh attempted to withdraw his earnings. He was informed of a 30% processing fee and an additional ₹61 lakh exchange service fee.

Suspicious, he found that two of the three trading platforms were no longer accessible, and Anita ceased all communication.

Concerned about potential compromises to his and his mother's bank accounts, Singh filed a complaint with the Cyber Crime Police in Noida's Sector 36.

Investigations revealed that Anita Chauhan's profile was fraudulent. Authorities are currently tracing the accounts to which Singh's funds were transferred.
