India’s Operation Dost in the earthquake hit nations of Turkey and Syria has won widespread appreciation from across the world
New Delhi, Feb 10: India is proving to be a real 'dost' for Turkey which has been ravaged by a deadly earthquake.
Even as hopes are fading for many, the Indian Army is proving to be a major blessings for the people of Turkey.

The Indian Army shared a touching images of a Turkish woman planting a kiss on the cheek of a woman Indian Army officer who is part of the rescue-and-relief mission in Turkey.
While sharing the image on Twitter, the Indian Army captioned it, " We Care."
India launched Operation Dost to extent assistance to Turkey as well Syria. Turkey was hit by a devastating earthquake on Monday and the aftershocks worsened the situation with buildings toppling and cities being flattened.
India has so far sent medical supplies, search-and-rescue teams to dig through the rubble and find survivors. The toll which has reached over 17,000 in both Turkey and Syria is expected to rise further.
India sent relief materials, a mobile hospital and specialised search and rescue teams. India also sent relief materials aboard a C-130J aircraft on the Indian Airforce to Syria.
When asked about sending aid to Syria, when the country has been under US sanctions, the Government of India made it clear that India its following the. G-20 mantra of 'One earth, One Family, One Future.'
While 250 personnel are already deployed in Turkey and Syria, specialised equipment and other relief materials weighting over 135 tonnes have also reached Turkey.
Three self-sustaining teams of the NDRF, number over 150 specially trained personnel along with Rambo and his friends of the special dog squad, specialised vehicles and other supplies have reached Turkey.
The Ministry of External Affairs said that equipment has been sent to set up a 30-bed field hospital of the Indian Army. The hospital will provide a fully functional operation theatre and facilities such as ventilators and X-rays.

External Affairs Minister, Dr. S Jaishankar tweeted that NDRF teams are rendering assistance in operations at the Gaziantep.
A team of officials from the MEA, two of who speak Turkish have been deployed in Turkey to assist the teams involved the rescue-and-relief operations.
"India stands committed to extending all possible support to those affected by this devastating earthquake," the MEA said.
Operation Dost:
Operation Dost is the name given to India's relief efforts in response to the largest earthquake that struck Turkey. The Indian Armed Forces has sent a medical team and relief to assist the Turkish government in response to the disaster. India's swift and effective relief in Turkey and Syria have received widespread appreciation from across the world.
