Rampur School Headmaster Faces Charges for Molesting Teachers
In a concerning development from Bilaspur, a primary school headmaster has been accused of molesting female teachers, sparking protests and legal action. The incident, which has brought to light serious allegations of misconduct within educational institutions, occurred at a government school in Krishna Nagar Colony, under the jurisdiction of the Bilaspur Kotwali police station.

On Friday, the teaching staff, alongside some family members of the affected teachers, gathered outside the school premises to protest against the headmaster's alleged actions. The protest aimed to highlight the grievances of the female teachers who have accused the headmaster of molestation and mental harassment.
Following the complaints lodged by the victims, the Bilaspur police have initiated legal proceedings against Hariram Diwakar, the headmaster in question. He faces charges under Sections 354 (assaulting a woman with an intention to outrage her modesty) and 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), as confirmed by SHO Balwan Singh.
The allegations suggest that Diwakar has been engaging in this reprehensible behavior for an extended period. The complainants have also reported instances of verbal abuse when they attempted to confront him about his actions.
In response to these serious accusations, Sanjeev Kumar, the Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA) of the district, has acknowledged the gravity of the situation. He revealed that assistant teachers from Krishna Nagar, Bilaspur have formally accused the headmaster of indecent behavior. An FIR has been registered, and steps are being taken to address this issue comprehensively. Kumar mentioned that a committee is currently being established to conduct a preliminary investigation at the departmental level.
This incident underscores the need for stringent measures and oversight within educational institutions to safeguard teachers and students alike from such unacceptable conduct. The ongoing investigation is expected to shed further light on these allegations and ensure that appropriate actions are taken against any proven misconduct.
