HC asks govt committee to reconsider caste claim of student

has set aside an order of the Caste Scrutiny Committee of

Government which had rejected the claim of a student belonging to Rajput Bhamta

, though his relatives had been issued certificates declaring them as belonging to the same caste.

The court sent the matter back to the committee for reconsideration. Until it takes a fresh decision, the interim protection granted to the student, Nilesh Deore of Malegaon, would continue, the bench headed by Justice Anoop Mohata said in its April 10 ruling.

The court relied on the judgement in Madhuri Nitin Jadhav V/s State of Maharashtra
