HC agrees to hear Umar Khalid's plea
New Delhi, Feb 23: The Delhi High Court on Tuesday agreed to hear a plea filed by JNU students Umar Khalid and Anirban Bhattacharya seeking security before they surrender to court.
The plea was mentioned before a division bench headed by Justice B.D. Ahmed, which agreed to hear it on Tuesday itself.
However, the lawyer representing Khalid refused to talk to the media.
The high court also agreed to hear a plea filed by a lawyer seeking direction to Delhi Police to enter JNU campus and arrest Umar Khalid and other students, who allegedly raised anti-national slogans inside the university campus.
