Speaking for the first time on allegations against his son, Jay Shah, BJP national President Amit Shah said that there was 'no question of corruption'. Shah claimed that his son never did any business with the government.
"If you have documents to prove your allegations then bring them to court. There is no question of any corruption in the business activities conducted by his son," Amit Shah told a private channel during an event organized by it. He reiterated that Jay Shah's business, commodity trade, was a high value low-profit venture. "If a company's turnover stands at Rs One crore, its profit does not become Rs One crore," he was quoted as saying by AajTak.
Now RSS gives Jay Shah a clean chit
Amit Shah's defense comes a day after Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh backed Jay Shah. The BJP, the RSS and now Amit Shah have all dared those making allegations to provide proof.
Earlier, the BJP had come out in defense of Jay Shah with union ministers like Piyush Goyal and Rajnath Singh backing Amit Shah's son. Meanwhile, Jay Shah's advocates have filed a defamation suit against a news website for a story alleging spike in his income after BJP government led by Narendra Modi came to power.
