Has Kashmir separatist Geelani become somebody else's Twitter puppet?

Google Oneindia News

At a time when internet and mobile phone services are banned in Jammu & Kashmir, how is it that only separatist Syed Ali Shah Geelani continues to regularly post on his Twitter and Facebook accounts -- and spread venom against India -- that too while he is under house arrest and is not supposed to have access to the Internet and mobile phones?

Either the 86-year-old Geelani is very tech-savvy as well as resourceful enough to be able to obtain access to communications devices even when under house arrest, or someone else is putting up posts on his Twitter account, @sageelani and Facebook account syedaligeelani.

Syed Ali Shah Geelani

If it's the first, the Indian authorities who are holding him under house arrest must be totally incompetent. If it's the second, the question arises, how is he able to communicate his thoughts to whoever is putting up his posts for him?

Or, is that somebody just doing it all by himself, in which case the next question is: Has Geelani become somebody else's Twitter puppet?

True, BSNL broadband and post-paid mobile services are available, and are in huge demand -- BSNL sold 20,000 post-paid mobile connections in just one week, but Geelani is under house arrest and denied these services.

Sources tell OneIndia that Geelani's social media accounts are not operated by him, but by somebody else sitting in an unspecified place.

Moreover, the sources say that even Geelani's statements to the press are prepared by somebody else and and he just reads them out.

The whole of J&K has remained shut down since the death of Burhan Wani, the Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist. Mobile and internet services have been suspended in the state to prevent the unrest being fuelled through the social media.

Due to this many people in the state have not been able to recharge even their direct-to-home television subscriptions. They have been calling up their relatives in other parts of the country and requesting them to recharge their accounts for them.
