An inspector of police in Karnataka took a dig at the state government prompting the home minister to seek an inquiry. Inspector Raghavendra Rajanna posted on his Facebook a post questioning the proposed Steel Bridge.

He wrote, "what happened to the proposed BDA steel bridge? Has it disappeared due to demonetisation scheme? This means black money meant for circulation and distribution has disappeared.

This post earned the wrath of the Karnataka Home Minister, Dr G Parameshwar. He has asked a senior police official to inquire and submit a report on the matter. As a government employee, he is not allowed to criticize the government and hence has acted against the rule. The Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) has issued a memo seeking an explaination on the Facebook post.
