Haryana Violence: Panicked Migrants Flee To Hometowns
The aftermath of the communal violence that erupted in Haryana's Nuh district has been horrific as several migrant families living in the area are planning to leave the state and return to their hometowns. In spite of the police assuring safety and security, they are feared of being attacked by the miscreants.

A large number of people who work as labourers, maids, drivers, gardeners, and street hawkers in Gurugram and Nuh have migrated to these areas from other states. These migrant workers say they are planning to leave their homes in Nuh and Gurugram as they are scared of what happened during the violence.
Jagdish, a migrant from Madhya Pradesh, says he has been living in Nuh for the last several months but is now feeling scared here and would leave for his hometown. While, Ram Avatar of Uttar Pradesh, who lives in Nuh with his family, also plans to return to his hometown.
A woman, who was in tears, pleaded with authorities to get her family out of Haryana due to the present situation."Please, get us a car and take us to Delhi. We don't want to stay here. How can we live here? Just save us, please. We don't want
anything more."
In a slum in Gurugram's Sector 70A, migrant families said a few people have come to their homes and threatened them. The families say they have been told that if they do not leave the area their shanties would be set on fire.
Khalid, a native of West Bengal, says he has no other option but to leave the city. "We spoke to our land owner who clearly said that he will not be responsible for any untoward incident in the wake of communal flare-up. So, we decided to return to our native village."
