Haryana To Transform Thanesar-Jyotisar Stretch Into Model Highway
The highway will be constructed in two phases: one from the Third Gate to Jyotisar and the other from Jyotisar to Pehowa.
Road construction is ongoing across the country. Dilapidated roads are being improved. A 5-kilometre four-lane stretch from Thanesar to Jyotisar at the Third Gate of Pehowa State Highway in Kurukshetra, Haryana, will be developed as a model. Work started two months ago. It will be built with concrete.

This road will have all traffic indicators, street lights, and attractive dividers. In four months, vehicles will be able to run fast on State Highway number 6, which is currently full of potholes. The highway from Thanesar to Pehowa will be rebuilt at a cost of 30 crores. The PWD department has prepared for this.
The model highway will be four lanes, while other parts will remain two lanes. The highway has been in poor condition for a long time and worsened during last year's floods. Although the PWD department has filled most potholes, the road's condition is still not good.
This highway connects the religious cities of Kaithal and Patiala in Punjab, leading to heavy traffic. Rajkumar, Executive Engineer of the PWD Department, said the blueprint for reconstruction is ready. The government has approved the budget, and work is being assigned to relevant agencies.
