Haryana raises retirement age of Anganwadi workers
Chandigarh, May 9: Haryana Government has raised the retirement age of Anganwadi workers and helpers from 60 to 65 years. The decision by the state government would benefit over 51,400 workers and helpers associated with 25,962 Anganwadi centres across the state, a spokesman of Women and Child Development Department said.
All Anganwadi workers, after 60 years of age, would have to submit fitness certificate issued by District Medical Board headed by Civil Surgeon, he added. The government had also increased the honorarium of Anganwadi workers from Rs 5,000 to Rs 7,500 per month and that of Anganwadi helpers from Rs 2,500 to Rs 3,500 per month, the spokesman said.
