Haryana Police Implements New Performance Assessment For Officers

Haryana Police's new assessment form, led by DGP Sh. Shatrujit Kapoor, boosts morale and performance among officers. Key insights revealed.

The Haryana Police have introduced an assessment form to evaluate the performance of officers and employees. This initiative, led by Director General of Police Sh. Shatrujit Kapoor, has started showing positive results. Report cards for each officer and employee have been prepared based on this form.

Due to this, the morale of well-performing police personnel is increasing, and others are motivated to improve. Sh. Shatrujit Kapoor visited Narnaul Police District to grade the performance of Deputy Superintendents of Police, Inspectors, and Management Officers.

New Performance Evaluation in Haryana Police

He has reviewed the performance of police officers in 14 districts. Additional Director General of Police, Sh. Sanjay Kumar, visited 9 districts, and Additional Director General of Police, Rohtak Range, Sh. KK Rao, visited Charkhi Dadri district. During these visits, senior police officers were also present.

Every rank of police personnel is being graded as per the assessment form. About 9 months ago, Sh. Shatrujit Kapoor provided this form to assess their tasks. Main performance indicators have been defined for different units like CIA, Crime Unit, Cyber Unit, Investigation Officers, Women Police Stations, SHOs, and other units.

Responsibilities for each task are fixed and marked separately to improve police functioning. The assessment form was prepared by studying and defining the responsibilities of each officer or employee point by point.

Each police officer or employee performs as per the points mentioned in the form and assigns themselves marks. There is also a provision for negative marking for those who do not meet the set parameters.

A provision has been made for giving separate 10 marks by the concerned police chief based on overall assessment. Marks are given based on ability, honesty, and discipline.

DG Kapoor said that utmost importance is given to complainant satisfaction while preparing the assessment form. Feedback is taken from complainants about actions taken on complaints lodged in police stations.

If over 80 percent of complainants express satisfaction with a police station's action, then that station or personnel gets 10 marks. Separate marks are also given for significant work in drug abuse eradication campaigns, women's safety, crime control, cyber-crime control, and more.

The performance of officers and employees has been reviewed by DG Kapoor in Faridabad, Jhajjar, Panchkula, Gurugram, Sonipat, Ambala, Kurukshetra, Hisar, Jind, Hansi, Kaithal, Panipat, Rohtak, and Narnaul Police Districts.

Additional Director General of Police has visited Yamunanagar, Karnal, Sirsa, Fatehabad, Bhiwani, Dabwali, Palwal, Nuh, and Rewari districts. The performance of Additional Director General of Police Rohtak Range Sh. Krishna Kumar Rao was reviewed during his visit to Charkhi Dadri district.
