Haryana Nuh Violence: Death Toll Rises To 5, Over 50 Injured
The death toll in the aftermath of communal violence in Haryana's Nuh reached five, with over 50 people injured during a religious procession on Monday evening. A mob of miscreants pelted stones and set cars on fire, causing havoc in the area, according to the police.
Among the reported deaths, four occurred in Nuh, including two home guards and two locals, with one local yet to be identified. Additionally, one death was reported from Gurugram, where a mosque was fired at and subsequently set ablaze.

In response to the violence, Haryana's Home Minister Anil Vij announced the imposition of a curfew in the violence-hit Nuh district. Prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the CrPC were issued in several districts of Haryana, including Nuh, Gurugram, and Rewari.
Internet services have been suspended in the region until August 2. Locals reported extensive damage to shops and cars in various areas, with Sohna near Sohna Chowk being severely affected.
Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) battalions were deployed in the affected districts to maintain peace, but over 50 shops, including vendors' carts, were vandalized according to witnesses.
The incident involving the mosque in Gurugram's sector 57 occurred late on Monday night when a mob of around 45 people attacked the mosque, resulting in one confirmed death and three injured individuals, one of whom is critical.
The violence originally broke out in Haryana's Nuh during a religious procession, leading to the death of two home guards and injuries to several others, including policemen. The unrest spread to other parts of Haryana, including Sohna in Gurugram district.
As a safety measure, the Haryana government ordered the closure of schools in Gurugram, Faridabad, and Palwal for Tuesday.
