Haryana: INLD State Chief Nafe Singh Rathee, Ally Shot Dead In Bahadurgarh

Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) Haryana state chief Nafe Singh Rathee was shot dead in Bahadurgarh on Sunday evening, according to reports. The reports added that unidentified assailants opened up fire at the former lawmaker when he was passing from Jhajjar district in his SUV.

Talking to the media, INLD spokesperson Rakesh Sihag confirmed to saddening and shocking incident of murder in broad daylight.

Reports added that locals took Nafe Singh Rathee to a nearby hospital after the attack with bullet injuries.

The doctor of Brahmashakti Sanjeevani Hospital confirmed that Nafe Singh Rathi had died before reaching the hospital. He added that his ally Jai Kishan of Mandothi village also died in the saddening incident.

After being informed, Jhajjar SP Arpit Jain reached the spot to look into the matter. He said, "We received information regarding an incident of firing. CIA and STF teams are working. The accused will be arrested soon."

Reacting to the murder, Aam Aadmi Party MP and Haryana in-charge in the last assembly elections, Sushil Kumar Gupta slammed BJP's Manohar Lal Khattar government. He said, "Haryana INLD president Nafe Singh and his associates have been shot dead. No one feels safe here (in Haryana) anymore. Businessmen are shot and then extorted, politicians are being shot dead on roads, and bullets are fired at farmers. Will the rule of law prevail in this state, or will the Chief Minister continue to remain occupied with election rallies?"

Earlier in January 2023, the Haryana police booked Rathee and five others under IPC section 306 (abetment to suicide) in relations to death of BJP leader Jagdish Numberdar, son of a former minister Mange Ram Numberdar.
