Haryana: Health Minister Anil Vij conducts surprise raid, suspends 3 officials
Ambala, Nov 14: Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij on Friday ordered suspension of three officials after they were found missing from their duty in a surprise checking at Assistant Food Supply Office (AFSO) at Ambala Cantonment, authorities said.
The minister was on a surprise check where he found all the five officials, including AFSO, absent from duty, officials said. Of the missing officials, two of them had gone to attend training, but the remaining three officials did not have their names registered, officials said.
The minister also said that he had received several complaints about this office.
He had directed the Deputy Commissioner to make it certain that all the employees of the various offices of the district should reach in time, he said.
A few days back the Health minister raided the civil hospital at Kurukshetra and had suspended three officials including a doctor.
Vij conducted a raid at the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Hospital (LNJP) in the district and expressed his displeasure with the condition of the hospital.
The minister also issued a show-cause notice to the medical superintendent and suspended a dental surgeon and a pharmacist from the Ayush wing.
Vij, met several patients and enquired about the treatment they were receiving at the hospital. During his 40-minute visit he also inspected almost all the wards, departments and doctors' chambers.
