Haryana Govt Sanctions Funds For Education And Rural Development Projects

Several significant decisions were made during a High Power Purchase Committee meeting chaired by Haryana's Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh. The committee approved nearly Rs 1000 crore for purchasing pipes to enhance water supply in rural areas. Additionally, Rs 30 crore was sanctioned for new equipment in biology and chemistry labs across 729 cluster schools.

In the same meeting, Rs 10 crore was allocated for General Science Labs equipment. Furthermore, Rs 24 crore was approved for acquiring 3836 computers for colleges. The Chief Minister emphasized the government's commitment to providing quality education, particularly in science and mathematics.

The state government is also implementing various projects in rural areas. These include yoga and exercise gymnasiums, libraries, and wellness centres. A plan to establish 468 indoor gyms in Panchayats has been prepared, with an approval of over Rs 50 crore for gym equipment.

During the meeting, the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying received approval for purchasing animal medicines. Additionally, HVPN and UHBVN were granted approval to buy 11 transformers of 132/33 KV and 20 transformers of 66/11 KV, along with other equipment, costing nearly Rs 290 crore.

The committee also approved the purchase of various items worth Rs 1500 crore. After negotiations with bidders, a saving of nearly Rs 72 crore was achieved. The meeting saw the presence of several cabinet ministers including Sh. Kanwar Pal, Sh. Mul Chand Sharma, Sh. Ranjit Singh, Sh. J.P. Dalal, Dr. Banwari Lal, and others.

The agenda included proposals from departments such as agriculture and farmers welfare, animal husbandry and dairying, food supplies and consumer affairs, Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited, Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam, public health engineering, higher education, secondary education, development and panchayats, transport, and police. Out of 31 agendas presented, 27 were approved.

Enhancing Police Infrastructure

The police department received approval for purchasing eight water cannons, nine Vajra vehicles, fourteen trucks, and three bulletproof vehicles at a cost of nearly Rs 11 crore. Additionally, the purchase of 695 computers and 1100 e-challan machines was sanctioned at a total cost of Rs 14 crore.

Chief Secretary Mr. T.V.S.N. Prasad; Additional Chief Secretary of the Finance Department Mr. Anurag Rastogi; Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. V. Umashankar; Director General of Police Mr. Shatrujit Kapoor; Director General of Supply and Disposal Mr. Mohammad Shain; Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Dr. Amit Agrawal; and other senior officers were also present at the meeting.

The Chief Minister reiterated that the state government is dedicated to enhancing education quality with a focus on science and mathematics subjects.
