Haryana govt issues direction for schools
Chandigarh, Apr 1: Haryana government has directed all schools to ensure updating of student's records on Management Information System (MIS) with the start of the new academic year from today.
A spokesman of the Secondary Education Department said that instructions on student's transition from one class to another and from one school to another and fresh admissions for upcoming academic session 2016-17 have been issued to all District Education Officers, District Elementary Education Officers, Block Education Officers, Block Elementary Education Officers and all Head Teachers.

They have been directed to ensure completion of the transition process for existing students by April 10, 2016. Section allocation and subject selection exercise would be completed by April 20, 2016.
He said that the processes to be adopted for this purpose included student transition, readmission, fresh admission and online application.
He said that for existing students whose data were uploaded in the MIS during the academic session 2015-16, records regarding promotion or retention of student from one class to another have to be updated.
If the student is continuing in the same school, the school should complete their transition to the next class in the new session 2016-17.
Mandatory fields of student profile have to be completed before undertaking the student transition. Also, in case of class-wise transition, the school should ensure that appropriate number of sections have been defined and allocated as per the student's strength of the class being transitioned, he added.
All students of Class V of government and private schools in Haryana are to be admitted through readmission as they are passing the highest class of primary school.
Similarly, students of Classes VIII and X of independent middle and high schools would also be re-admitted in another school.
For this purpose, the student would need the School Leaving Certificate (SLC) from the previous school. For SLC generation, school would issue online SLC to the student.
He said that the new school would carry out the re-admission of the student from the previous school to the current school.
The spokesman said that students of Class I and those who have not been issued Student Registration Number (SRN), were to be admitted afresh in MIS.
For all the students seeking admission for the first time in any government or private school and those who do not have SRN, including those coming from other states for the first time, such students may be admitted afresh.
Fresh admission of a student, who already has SRN in MIS, would not be allowed and would be restricted based on duplicate Aadhaar number.
