Haryana Govt Accelerates Recruitment With Interim Appointments
The Haryana government has announced that candidates recommended for any post by the Haryana Staff Selection Commission and the Haryana Public Service Commission by September 30, 2024, can be appointed on an interim basis without prior verification of their character, antecedents, and required documents.
A letter from the Chief Secretary's office confirmed this decision. It stated that the verification process for character, antecedents, and all necessary documents for final appointment will now be completed within two months instead of three months after the interim appointment.

All administrative secretaries, department heads, chief administrators, and managing directors of boards, corporations, and public sector undertakings have been instructed to follow these new guidelines strictly. This directive also applies to all divisional commissioners, deputy commissioners, and registrars of state universities.
The Chief Secretary's office has issued a letter outlining these changes. The letter emphasizes that the verification process will be expedited to ensure it is completed within two months post-interim appointment.
This move aims to streamline the appointment process and reduce delays in filling vacant positions. By allowing interim appointments without prior verification, the government hopes to address staffing needs more efficiently.
Ensuring compliance with these instructions is crucial for all relevant authorities. The directive underscores the importance of adhering to the new timeline for document verification to facilitate timely appointments.
The decision to allow interim appointments without prior verification marks a significant shift in the recruitment process. It reflects an effort to balance the need for thorough background checks with the urgency of filling vacancies promptly.
By reducing the verification period from three months to two months, the government aims to expedite the overall appointment process. This change is expected to benefit both candidates and departments by minimizing delays.
The directive from the Chief Secretary's office highlights the importance of efficient administrative processes. It calls on all relevant officials to ensure strict adherence to the new guidelines for interim appointments.
This policy change is part of a broader effort to improve administrative efficiency and responsiveness in Haryana. By streamlining the appointment process, the government seeks to enhance its ability to meet staffing requirements effectively.
Overall, this initiative represents a proactive approach to addressing recruitment challenges. It underscores the government's commitment to optimizing administrative procedures while maintaining rigorous standards for candidate verification.
