Haryana To Enhance Public Transport With 650 New Buses, Including AC Models

Haryana's public transport to see a boost with 650 new buses, including 150 AC models, aiming for improved travel comfort and accessibility.

Haryana's Naik Singh Saini government will soon buy new buses. The state will see 650 new buses on the roads. The tender process for these buses is complete. This new fleet includes 150 AC buses. These buses will be sent to all districts based on demand.

650 New Buses to Boost Haryana s Transport

The Transport Directorate has already collected reports from all district depots. Haryana Transport Minister Aseem Goel said that after buying these buses, the department will start buying 518 more buses. This includes plans for 500 HVAC buses.

Currently, the transport department has 6 Volvo, 12 Mercedes, 153 HVAC, 3 CNG, 10 semi-low floor, 278 mini, and 3203 plain buses. With the addition of 1168 new buses, the total fleet will grow to 5395 buses. At present, there are 4227 buses in total.

Of these, 562 buses are under the kilometre scheme. After adding the new buses, the total number of buses will be 5395. Aseem Goel also mentioned that the Transport Department will improve toilets at bus stations based on passenger complaints.

First, they will improve toilets at main bus stands in six districts. Inspections will be done before improvements start. A team of officers has been formed at the headquarters level to find out the issues along with district teams.

The Haryana Transport Department has contracted a private company to maintain these toilets.
