Haryana News: Government Ready for Discussion on Every Issue: Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini stated the government is prepared to address every Assembly issue point-by-point while upholding constitutional commitments, and he highlighted planned session timings, opposition conduct, and strides in Haryana's sports policy to boost athlete success.

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said that the government is fully prepared to hold discussions on every issue and every point raised in the Assembly. He said all matters would be addressed point-wise while maintaining complete constitutional commitment.

The Chief Minister was speaking to mediapersons on Wednesday after the Business Advisory Committee meeting in the Haryana Vidhan Sabha. He said the opposition was demanding an extension of House time, but the matter had already been decided during the committee meeting. He added that after the Monsoon Session, it is mandatory for the next session to be held after six months. Although the six-month period will be completed on February 26, the government has still convened the Winter Session ahead of time.

Referring to past practices, the Chief Minister said that if the issue of extending House time is raised, history should be reviewed. He said previous Congress governments used to convene fewer Assembly sessions. This practice was changed in 2014, when a four-day session was held, while in 2024, the present government conducted a five-day session.

The Chief Minister said that Assembly proceedings run strictly according to the business listed. He added that the previous session was conducted smoothly and appealed to the opposition to participate in meaningful discussions and bring forward issues related to public interest. He alleged that when the government presents valid arguments, the opposition resorts to walkouts instead of listening and engaging in debate. He said repeated electoral defeats have created frustration within the Congress.

He further said that even during the previous session, the opposition wasted one full day, resulting in legislators' questions remaining unanswered. He again urged the opposition to prioritise public interest issues during the House proceedings.

On allegations regarding misuse of investigative agencies, the Chief Minister said that Congress was creating confusion by spreading false and imaginary narratives. He said the opposition had earlier spread misinformation claiming that the Constitution would be in danger if Narendra Modi became Prime Minister for a third term. The Chief Minister asserted that as long as Narendra Modi is the Prime Minister, the sacred Constitution given by Baba Saheb remains completely safe.

Responding to a question on attacks against sportspersons in Punjab, the Chief Minister said that law and order in Haryana is strong and the police are working with full vigilance. He said those involved in criminal activities have been sent behind bars. While some cases may take time to investigate, he said there is no instance where the Haryana Police has failed to perform its duty. He alleged that previous governments in Punjab and the current AAP government are only focused on serving their own interests.

The Chief Minister expressed concern over the condition of women, youth and sportspersons in Punjab, stating that when players are attacked on the field, it reflects a serious breakdown of safety. He said the positive impact of Haryana's sports policy is clearly visible, citing the sharp increase in medals won by athletes compared to the period before 2014. He added that the government has consistently worked to strengthen sports infrastructure across the state.
