Haryana Enhances Paediatric Care With Rs 44 Crore Annual Funding

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal has sanctioned Rs 44.10 crore annually to enhance paediatric care in district hospitals. This funding will support the existing 12-bedded Paediatric HDU and ICU units.

Health Minister Dr Kamal Gupta shared this information, noting that these units were initially established under the Emergency COVID Response Package Phase-II (ECRP-II) to manage the pandemic.

Rs 44 Crore Boost for Haryana s Paediatric Care

Dr Kamal Gupta highlighted that Rs 38.80 crore of the total allocation will be used to hire essential medical staff. This includes 21 Intensivists, 105 Duty Medical Officers, 420 ICU-trained nurses, Nursing Sisters, 105 OT and Anesthesia Technicians, and 21 Counselors. These professionals are crucial for the smooth operation of the Paediatric HDU and ICU units.

The recruitment for these positions will be conducted through walk-in interviews. Advertisements for these roles will be posted on the Directorate General Health Services (DGHS) website and the National Health Mission portal. A committee led by the DGHS will supervise the recruitment process to ensure transparency and efficiency.

Additionally, support staff will be hired through Haryana Skill Employment Corporation Limited, with an estimated annual cost of Rs 5.30 crore. This approach aims to streamline the hiring process and ensure that all necessary personnel are in place.

A dedicated cell within the DGHS office will be established to maintain records of the engaged manpower. This cell will also handle other service-related matters, ensuring proper management and oversight of the workforce involved in operating the ICUs.

Dr Gupta emphasized the government's dedication to providing high-quality healthcare facilities. He assured that there is no shortage of funds for delivering top-notch health services in government hospitals across Haryana.

Commitment to Health Infrastructure

The state government continues its efforts to upgrade health infrastructure, ensuring adequate manpower for modern health services. Dr Gupta reiterated that the government is committed to offering world-class health facilities to its citizens.

This initiative reflects Haryana's ongoing commitment to improving healthcare services and addressing the needs of its population effectively. The focus on paediatric care is particularly significant, given the importance of providing specialised medical attention to children.

The allocation of funds and strategic planning underscore a proactive approach towards enhancing healthcare infrastructure. By prioritising recruitment and administrative efficiency, Haryana aims to set a benchmark in public health management.

The state's efforts are expected to significantly improve paediatric care, ensuring that children receive timely and appropriate medical attention in well-equipped facilities.
