Execpt for some minor incidents, elections were concluded peacefully. Voters recoreded fates of 1,031 candidates, including 101 women, in the ballot box and now, it is time for election results.

On October 8, vote counting will commence at 8 a.m., with officials and party agents arriving by 5 a.m. Poll officials are expected to be briefed and ready at their tables by 6 a.m. The process will start with postal ballots, reserved for specific groups like security personnel and those with disabilities. Following this, votes from Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) will be counted.

By midday, early trends should begin to emerge, but clearer results are expected by late afternoon. Election outcomes for each constituency will be announced once counting concludes. India uses a first-past-the-post system where the candidate with the most votes wins.

Political Stakes in Haryana

Haryana's election saw voting for its 90 assembly seats conclude on October 5. The political scene was diverse, with BJP and Congress leading the race.
