Haryana: Curfew Imposed In Violence-Hit Nuh District

Authorities on Tuesday took the measure of imposing a curfew in Haryana's Nuh district after violent clashes erupted during an attempt to halt a procession organized by the Vishva Hindu Parishad. The clash resulted in the tragic deaths of two home guards and left several others, including policemen, injured.

Haryana's Home Minister, Anil Vij, announced the imposition of the curfew in Nuh district. The situation in Nuh remains tense, although there were no reports of fresh violence on Tuesday. In response to the volatile situation, security has been strengthened in Nuh and surrounding areas.

The incident occurred when a mob engaged in pelting stones and setting cars on fire to obstruct the Vishva Hindu Parishad procession.

Haryana's Chief Minister, Manohar Lal Khattar, expressed his concerns over the unfortunate incident on Monday. He urged the public to maintain peace in the state and assured that those responsible for the violence would face the strictest consequences. In a tweet in Hindi, he pledged that the guilty would not be spared at any cost.
