Haryana Civil Service Officers To Receive Long-Awaited Promotions
Haryana government clears promotions for HCS officers after a four-year delay. Fifteen officers are set to be promoted to IAS following UPSC approval.
The Haryana government is set to announce a major update for its HCS officers. Promotions for Haryana Civil Service officers, pending for the last four years, are now cleared. Soon, 15 HCS officers will be promoted. All required documents have been sent to UPSC with legal opinions.
After this, a meeting will be organised by UPSC. It will include the Chief Secretary, Senior IAS UPSC members, and Central Government members. They will finalise the promotions. In Haryana, 15 HCS officers will be promoted to IAS.

The Haryana government has sent names of 30 officers from the 2002, 2003, and 2004 batches. Last year, they also sent names of 30 officers for 15 vacant posts of 2020, 2021, and 2022. However, UPSC raised questions about the list sent by the government.
UPSC wrote to the government stating that the Anti-Corruption Bureau report indicated manipulation in the selection process for the 2001 and 2004 HCS exams. This put the entire recruitment process under scrutiny. The government then sought an opinion from the AG office.
The AG office stated there was no issue with the promotions. The government has since sent all documents, including the ACB inquiry report and charge sheet, along with legal opinions in its report. UPSC has not raised any objections so far.
Now, UPSC needs to fix a date for the meeting. The promotions will be approved in this meeting itself.
