Haryana Chirag Yojana: Empowering Underprivileged Students With Education

The Haryana Government has introduced a scheme to support underprivileged families. Named the Haryana Chirag Yojana, it aims to help parents who cannot afford private school fees for their children. This initiative allows students from financially weak backgrounds to access private education.

Previously, the Haryana government has provided various educational facilities and grants to low-income families. Now, with the Chirag Yojana, underprivileged families can apply for this new scheme. The scheme offers basic facilities to poor students, enabling them to study in private schools for free.

Free Private Schooling for Underprivileged

To benefit from this scheme, a child's family must have an annual income of less than Rs. 1.80 lakhs. Initially, around 25,000 students from classes 2nd to 12th will be covered. The government has removed section 134A to start this scheme, aiming to provide free private school education to children from low-income families.

Only students meeting the eligibility criteria can take advantage of this scheme. Applicants must be residents of Haryana state and studying in classes 2nd to 12th. The scheme is limited to specific private schools listed as per form 6 instructions.

To apply, students must first visit the official website of the Haryana Chirag Yojana on their mobile devices. On the homepage, they will find an option for the application form. Clicking on it will open a PDF form that needs to be downloaded and printed.

Applicants must fill out the form carefully and attach photocopies of all required documents, including Aadhar card, income certificate, TC certificate for private school admission, passport size photo, and a mobile number. The completed form should be submitted to the desired school for admission.

This scheme is expected to boost the morale of economically deprived communities by providing better educational opportunities through private schools compared to public ones. Students recommended by their previous schools must update their information on the Data Mist portal for admission.

The Haryana Chirag Yojana is a significant step towards improving educational access for underprivileged children in the state. By offering free private school education, it aims to uplift economically weak families and provide better future prospects for their children.
