Haryana Assembly Elections 2024: PM Modi Warns Congress Infighting Will Ruin State If Elected
During a rally in Gohana, Prime Minister Modi warned against Congress's potential return to power, citing internal strife and its neglect of marginalized communities. He highlighted BJP's commitment to development in Haryana and the significance of inclusivity in governance.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, at a rally in Gohana, Sonipat, before the upcoming Haryana assembly elections on October 5, sharply attacked the Congress party. He warned that if Congress were to assume power, it would pose a threat to the state's progress and stability.
Modi attributed this possible decline to the party's internal strife and accused it of having a longstanding resistance to reservation, claiming that such a stance is embedded in the party's very essence.

Highlighting the internal turmoil within Congress-led administrations in states such as Karnataka, Telangana, and Himachal Pradesh, as well as past issues in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, Modi pointed out the instability these conflicts brought. He brought attention to unrest within the Congress ranks in Haryana, particularly around the dissatisfaction with how election tickets were distributed, leading to rumors about Kumari Selja's participation in the electoral campaign. Despite these rumors, Selja confirmed her commitment to the Congress party.
On the topic of reservation, Modi accused Congress of consistently neglecting the rights of marginalized groups, including Dalits and backward classes, during its tenure. He set this against the backdrop of BJP's inclusion efforts, exemplified by the appointment of OBC member Nayab Saini as the Chief Minister of Haryana, showcasing the party's commitment to representing these communities in governance.
During the rally, Modi recalled his recent encounters in the United States with global leaders and business executives, where he showcased the potential of India's youth. He praised the advancements in industry and agriculture made in Haryana under the BJP's leadership, attributing these achievements to the party's dedication to uplifting the poor, farmers, and Dalits.
As the election approaches, Modi voiced his optimism regarding BJP's increasing popularity in Haryana, confidently looking forward to the party's victory. He cited B.R. Ambedkar's advocacy for industrialization as a means to empower the underprivileged, emphasizing the importance of diversifying income sources in rural areas due to the decreasing size of farms.
In addition, Modi paid tribute to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, reiterating the BJP's pledge to focus on development and poverty reduction, inspired by Upadhyaya's teachings. He wrapped up his speech with a positive note on the recent electoral process in Jammu and Kashmir, commending the high voter turnout. This approach signifies the Prime Minister's attempt to align BJP's governance and policies with the broader aspirations of empowerment and progress for all segments of society, particularly those that have been historically marginalized.
