Haryana Assembly Election: AAP Stands Firm On Key Seats, Engages In Tough Alliance Talks With Congress
As discussions over a pre-poll alliance between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Congress continue, Arvind Kejriwal's party is holding firm on not compromising certain Assembly seats, according to sources.
The AAP is willing to form an alliance with Congress but insists on securing the Kalayat seat and at least one seat in the Kurukshetra region.

The AAP is also closely monitoring potential Congress and BJP rebels, with plans to bring them into their fold if the talks fail and the party decides to contest the October 5 election independently.
Sources suggest that if no alliance is finalised, AAP would begin releasing candidate lists, including rebels from both parties.
Raghav Chadha, AAP's Rajya Sabha MP, expressed optimism about the ongoing discussions between the parties, saying it could be a "win-win situation" for both Congress and AAP.
He explained, "Ball-by-ball commentary cannot be given on which seat and how many seats. Regarding the alliance, we can only say that whenever the final decision is made, we will inform you. There is a desire, a wish, and hope to form an alliance."
Chadha is leading the negotiations with Congress leaders in Haryana.
Last week, sources indicated that the parties had reached an in-principle agreement to contest jointly in Haryana.
Congress leader Deepak Babaria said that the alliance would only proceed if it created a "win-win" outcome for both parties.
However, after talks appeared to stall, AAP spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar stated that the party was "fully prepared" to contest all 90 seats.
"Aam Aadmi Party is continuously working in Haryana. Today, there are public meetings by Sunita Kejriwal ji. We are fully prepared to contest all 90 seats, and our organisation is strong on the ground," she asserted.
