Rohtak: 2 brave sisters thrash 3 molesters in bus, get them arrested
Rohtak, Dec 1: In an incident that should set an example that girls can no longer bear the torture of eve-teasing and molestation, two college-going sisters in Rohtak district of Haryana, thrashed their molesters black and blue with belts and took the matter to police.
The incident reportedly happened on Monday, Nov 24, when two sisters- 22-year-old Arti Kumar and 19-year-old Pooja were travelling in a Haryana Roadways bus plying from Rohtak to Sonipat. [Rohtak horror: We were asked to withdraw complaint, says sisters' family]

Then three youths allegedly started eve-teasing them. Initially, the girls tried to ignore them, but when the accused started making lewd gestures at a pregnant woman, who was also in the bus, then, the girls, took the matter in their own hands, by teaching them a lesson. [How Twitteratti reacted]
"We fought the assaulters all alone. No one came forward to help us as the youth hit us and even pushed us out of the moving bus," said Aarti and Pooja.
The girls alleged that the boys were blowing kisses at them and throwing slips towards them on which their mobile phone numbers were written. When the girls objected to this, the youth made lewd gestures and passed comments on them.
Pregnant woman gathered courage to make video
Shockingly, other passengers on the bus, including the bus driver and conductor, did not come to rescue or help the two girls. The bus kept moving as the girls were being assaulted. [Haryana: Brave sisters who thrashed molesters to be honoured on Republic Day]
The incident came into media on Sunday, Nov 29, when the video of the girls thrashing molesters, made by the pregnant woman, went viral on the social media.
In the video, it was seen that the brave girls were overpowered by the accused and they were thrown off the moving bus, during which they also received minor injuries.
The sisters claimed that the bus stopped after some distance and the youth, and his accomplices, pushed them out of the moving bus and started hitting them. While one girl fell on the road, the other one fell in a field.
One of the sisters then attacked the youth with a brick after which he fled from the spot.
The bus crew and other passengers neither helped the girls nor did they inform police. The girls called up the police and women helpline but failed to get any response.
"The helpline attendant told us that they will call up in two minutes. But we got no call and no help," Aarti said.
The pregnant woman also accompanied the girls and took them to Sadar police station to file a complaint.
