Hardik Patel granted bail in 2015 vandalism case
The sessions court had issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against Hardik Patel and Lalji Patel over vandalism in BJP MLA Rishikesh Patel's Office.
Patidar community leader Hardik Patel was granted bail by Visnagar court on Thursday in a 2015 vandalising case.
The court cancelled the arrest warrants of Hardik Patel and others after they appeared before it today and gave an assurance that they will remain present during the future hearings. Each of them also submitted surety bonds of Rs 5,000. The court has kept the case for next hearing on November 15.
The sessions court had issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against Hardik Patel and Lalji Patel over vandalism in BJP MLA Rishikesh Patel's Office. The warrant came on the day when the Election Commission announced the schedule for Gujarat Assembly election 2017.
In 2016, BJP MLA Rishikesh Patel's office in Visnagar was attacked by agitators and in July 2015 as well during the height of Patidar quota agitation. His car was also pelted stones at while passing through ITI Circle in Mehsana's Visnagar city.
Visnagar was one of the nerve-centers of Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti -led the agitation for reservations for the Patel community then.
