Union Minister Puri Discusses Modi Govt's Achievements with Sikh Leaders
Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri recently hosted a significant gathering at his residence, engaging with prominent members of the Sikh community. This event, part of the Vishesh Sampark Abhiyan, aimed to discuss the achievements of the Modi government over its decade-long tenure and to share the prime minister's vision for a developed India by 2047. The session saw participation from a diverse group, including lawyers, industrialists, academics, members of the armed forces, and politicians.

Puri emphasized the exceptional contributions of the Sikh community across various fields, from fashion and culinary arts to academia and public service. He highlighted notable individuals such as singer Daler Mehndi, former Punjab MLA HS Phoolka, and ex-Rajya Sabha MP Tarlochan Singh, among others. The minister underscored Prime Minister Narendra Modi's special regard for the Sikh community and his commitment to ensuring their rightful place in the nation.
The discussion also touched upon several initiatives undertaken by Modi for the welfare of Sikhs. These include operationalizing the Kartarpur Sahib corridor and installing ropeways at gurdwara sahibs, reflecting the prime minister's longstanding support for the community. Puri remarked on the deep-seated faith and love Sikhs have for Modi, a sentiment that has grown since his days as a pracharak.
Furthermore, Puri announced upcoming engagements with members of the armed forces, police, civil services personnel, eminent intellectuals, and the tech community. These meetings aim to continue the dialogue on Sikhs' contributions and aspirations.
Popular Punjabi singer Daler Mehndi expressed his admiration for Modi's genuine affection towards Sikhs and his wishes for the prime minister's continued efforts towards their welfare. BJP leaders Manjinder Singh Sirsa and Arvinder Singh Lovely echoed this sentiment, praising Modi's dedication to Sikh causes. Sirsa also criticized Congress for its alleged role in past atrocities against Sikhs.
This gathering not only served as a platform for celebrating Sikh achievements but also reinforced the Modi government's commitment to inclusivity and respect for all communities. As these discussions progress, they promise to foster a deeper understanding and collaboration between the government and Sikh leaders across India.
