Kejriwal Steps In: Hardayal Library Employees Finally Receive Long-Awaited Salaries
In a major relief for 96 employees of Delhis Hardayal Library, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced the release of five months worth of pending salaries, putting an end to their prolonged financial struggles.
In a significant development, the five months' pending salaries of 96 employees of Delhi's historic Hardayal Library have finally been released. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced the release of the salaries in a lump sum, bringing relief to the long-suffering employees.

MCD Releases Salaries After 35-Month Wait
The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), acting on the directive of Chief Minister Kejriwal, disbursed the salaries for the five months of 2021. The Hardayal Municipal Public Library (HMPL), located in the heart of Delhi's Chandni Chowk area, has a rich collection of books in various languages, including Hindi, English, Urdu, Arabic, Persian, and Sanskrit.
Employees' Struggle and Redressal
The employees of the library had been engaged in a 35-month-long dharna to protest the non-payment of their salaries since 2021. Their perseverance and determination finally paid off with the intervention of Chief Minister Kejriwal. A group of library employees gathered at the Chief Minister's Camp Office to express their gratitude for addressing their long-pending grievances.
Kejriwal's Assurance and Empathy
Chief Minister Kejriwal expressed his happiness at the release of the five months' salaries after a prolonged struggle. He assured the employees that provisions have been made for their salaries for the remaining period, which will be disbursed soon. Kejriwal also shared a video on social media platform X, documenting his interaction with the library employees.
Honest Government Makes a Difference
In his interaction with the employees, Kejriwal highlighted the significance of an honest government. He mentioned that his wife used to visit the Hardayal Library while preparing for the civil services examination, establishing a personal connection with the institution. Kejriwal emphasized that his government understands the pain and suffering of the common people, as its members come from similar backgrounds.
AAP's Commitment to Public Welfare
Kejriwal reiterated his government's commitment to providing essential services such as electricity, water, health facilities, and quality education free of cost. He criticized the previous government for its mismanagement of the MCD and highlighted the positive changes brought about by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the past year, despite facing challenges and limitations.
AAP MLA and MCD Officials Present
AAP's MLA and MCD in-charge Durgesh Pathak, Mayor Shelly Oberoi, Deputy Mayor Aaley Mohammad Iqbal, and Leader of MCD House Mukesh Goel were also present during the interaction with the library employees. They expressed their support and acknowledged the suffering endured by the employees.
The release of pending salaries to the employees of Delhi's Hardayal Library marks a significant victory for the common people. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's intervention and the commitment of the AAP government to public welfare have brought relief to the long-suffering employees. The incident highlights the importance of honest governance and the positive impact it can have on the lives of citizens.
