Delhi University, Jamia to Observe Half-Day Closure for Ram Temple Consecration
Jamia Millia Islamia, its schools, and Delhi University will have a half-day closure on January 22nd till 2:30 pm due to the Ram temple consecration in Ayodhya. Pre-scheduled exams and meetings in Jamia and interviews/selection committees in DU will continue as planned.
In light of the upcoming Ram temple consecration ceremony in Ayodhya, several educational institutions in Delhi, including Jamia Millia Islamia, its schools, and Delhi University, have announced a half-day closure on January 22, 2024.

Jamia Millia Islamia and Schools
According to official notifications released by Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) on Friday, the university, its maintained institutions, centers, and offices, including Jamia schools, will observe a half-day on Monday, January 22. However, all pre-scheduled examinations and meetings in Jamia will be held as usual.
Delhi University
Delhi University has also issued a notification regarding the half-day closure. The notification states that interviews, selection committees, and examination practicals scheduled for January 22 will continue as per the schedule already notified by the concerned faculty department.
Central Government Offices
In addition to educational institutions, all central government offices across the country will remain closed for half-day on January 22, as per an order issued by the Personnel Ministry.
Ram Temple Consecration Ceremony
The pran pratishtha ceremony, marking the consecration of the sanctum sanctorum of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, is scheduled to take place on Monday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to attend the ceremony.
The half-day closure of educational institutions and central government offices in Delhi is a significant step taken to facilitate the smooth conduct of the Ram temple consecration ceremony and ensure public participation in this historic event.
