Minister for minority welfare N.Md Farooq announced an extension for the Hajj pilgrimage registration period. Initially set to close on September 9, it will now remain open until September 23. This change aims to accommodate more applicants for Hajj-2025.
Applications are being accepted online, and several requirements must be met. Pilgrims need a machine-readable Indian passport valid until January 15, 2026. There are no age restrictions, but children will incur a fee equivalent to 10% of the total airfare.

Individuals above two years of age will be charged as adults. Additionally, those selected for the pilgrimage must submit a medical screening and fitness certificate. This ensures that all participants are fit for the journey.
The Minister's announcement provides more time for potential pilgrims to prepare their documents and complete the registration process. This extension is expected to increase participation in Hajj-2025.
This decision reflects the government's commitment to facilitating religious pilgrimages for its citizens. By extending the deadline, they aim to make the process more inclusive and accessible.
The extended registration period allows more individuals to fulfil their spiritual aspirations by participating in this significant religious event. The online application process simplifies registration, making it easier for people across India to apply.
Ensuring that all necessary documents are in order is crucial for a smooth application process. Prospective pilgrims should take advantage of this extension to gather required documents and complete their applications promptly.
This move underscores the importance of accommodating as many applicants as possible while maintaining necessary health and safety standards through required medical screenings.
The extension also highlights the government's efforts to support minority communities in practising their faith and participating in important religious events like Hajj.
By providing additional time for registration, the government aims to ensure that everyone who wishes to embark on this pilgrimage has the opportunity to do so without facing unnecessary hurdles.
