Gurugram's New Metro Project To Boost City Connectivity, Inclusivity

Gurugram's upcoming metro project, costing Rs 5452 crore, promises enhanced city connectivity with 27 stations. Set for a speed of 80 km/h, it aims for inclusivity.

Residents of Haryana have good news. Preparations are underway to run the metro in old Gurugram. The metro station design is planned for a speed of 90 km/h. The metro will run at 80 km/h on this route. Dr. Chandrashekhar Khare, MD of Gurugram Metro Rail Limited, shared this during a route inspection.

The geo-technical survey for about 13 km will finish in June. Detailed design consultants and general consultants will be appointed this month. Construction preparations are starting soon. Dr Khare said the metro route will offer multi-modal integrated transport facilities, ensuring good connectivity with buses and auto rickshaws.

New Gurugram Metro to Boost Connectivity

A new organization for GMR will be formed soon, with technical experts and consultants appointed to advance the project. The metro will be inclusive and accessible, especially for women, children, senior citizens, and disabled people. The project design will cater to the needs of city dwellers.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of the metro project on 16 February. The 28-km long metro in old Gurugram will cost Rs 5452 crore and have 27 elevated stations. The route will start from Millennium City Center Metro Station and go to Cyber Hub via Bakhtawar Chowk, Subhash Chowk, Hero Honda Chowk, Sector 4/5, and Palam Vihar.
