Gurugram to Reward Cleanest Wards with Rs 1 Crore in Civic Boost
Wards in the city that maintain top cleanliness for two consecutive months will receive a reward of Rs 1 crore, while those excelling for a single month will get Rs 50 lakh, officials announced on Saturday. An independent agency will be responsible for evaluating the cleanliness of these wards.

Monitoring and Evaluation
Division Commissioner RC Bidhan revealed this incentive during a review meeting held at the Mini Secretariat in Gurugram. He mentioned that Chief Secretary TVSN Prasad would inspect various parts of the city on Sunday to assess the progress made so far.
Bidhan instructed officers to ensure regular monitoring of door-to-door garbage collection. He emphasised that all secondary points must be cleaned daily, and their status should be updated through GIS mapping.
Development Funds
The prize money awarded can be utilised for the development of the respective areas, according to the statement. This initiative aims to encourage wards to maintain high standards of cleanliness consistently.
During the meeting, Bidhan received detailed ward-wise reports on the ongoing cleanliness campaign. He stressed the importance of having an area-wise list of individuals working with construction and demolition (C&D) waste, ensuring they possess the necessary licences.
Inspection and Compliance
After the meeting, Bidhan, along with other officers, inspected the Bandhwari waste disposal plant and reviewed cleanliness-related activities in the city. DC Nishant Kumar Yadav and Municipal Corporation Commissioner Narhari Bangar were also present during this inspection.
Bidhan asserted that individuals dealing with C&D waste should only be permitted to dump waste in designated areas. This measure is crucial for maintaining organised waste management practices within the city.
The initiative underscores the city's commitment to enhancing its cleanliness standards through structured monitoring and rewarding exemplary performance. The involvement of senior officials highlights the importance placed on this campaign.
This structured approach aims to foster a cleaner environment by incentivising wards to maintain high cleanliness standards consistently. The rewards serve as both motivation and recognition for their efforts.
