'Guru Pournima' festival starts in Shirdi
Shirdi (Maha), July 18: Thousands of devotees visited the famous Saibaba shrine here as the three-day-long 'Guru Pournima' festival began today.
On the occasion, the shrine was decorated with flowers and its surroundings were illuminated. A 'mahapooja' was performed by the Shri Saibaba Sansthan Trust's executive officer Bajirao Shinde and his wife, a release by the Trust said.

Scores of devotees from different cities across the country will be visiting the shrine. Some of the pilgrims from cities like Mumbai and Pune walk to the town to take part in the festival.
The Sansthan has organised various programmes during the festival, it added.
