Guj man robbed of Rs 10 lakh at gunpoint
The victim, Mohammad Jaffar, from Marole in Valsad, had come to Dahagaon in Sahapur taluka of Thane district on December 9 for purchasing a land. However, when he reached the place with the money, six locals robbed Rs 10 lakh from him at gun-point near Katgaon village.
They also hit him with a hard object before fleeing with the money, Thane district rural police said. The victim lodged a complaint with Sahapur police last evening, following which the police registered offences under section 395 (dacoity) of IPC and sections 3 and 25 of the Arms Act. A search has been launched to nab the culprits, police said.
