Gujarats Development Projects Set Global Example at Vibrant Gujarat Summit
Gujarats Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel highlighted the states development projects, such as Gift City and Dream City, as examples of futuristic urban planning. These projects showcase Gujarats commitment to sustainable development and serve as global models for conceiving, perceiving, and developing cities.

Gandhinagar, December 15: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel lauded the state government's development projects for setting an example on the global stage. Speaking at the Pre-Vibrant Gujarat Summit titled "Liveable Cities of Tomorrow" held at Mahatma Mandir, CM Patel highlighted projects like Gift City and Dream City as embodiments of Gujarat's commitment to futuristic urban development.
Gujarat's Urban Development and Infrastructure Investments
The Chief Minister emphasized the significant investments made by the Gujarat government in urban development and infrastructure over the past few decades. He mentioned pioneering concepts such as land pooling, transit-oriented development (TOD), heritage management, and sustainable waste management as key achievements of the state's urban development initiatives.
Gujarat as a Model for Urban Development
Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs, Kaushal Kishor, also praised Gujarat's urban development achievements during the inaugural session. He acknowledged the state's emergence as a model for urban development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, paving the way for inclusive and sustainable urbanization.
International Participation and Future Collaboration
The summit witnessed the participation of nearly 800 delegates from various countries, including 15 panellists representing different organizations. Gujarat Chief Secretary Raj Kumar highlighted the state's urbanization rate, which currently stands at 48% and is projected to exceed 60% by 2035.
Prelude to Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit
The Liveable Cities of Tomorrow summit serves as a prelude to the upcoming 10th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit. It provides a platform for cities to showcase their unique initiatives and explore potential avenues for future collaboration during the Vibrant Gujarat Summit, scheduled to take place from January 10-12, 2023.
