Gujaratis are liars, says SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav
Lucknow, Nov 18: Apparently launching one of the most severe attacks on PM Modi, Samajwadi Party chief on Monday said that all Gujarati are liars.
He was addressing SP's national women's conference in Lucknow on Monday. At a day-long event, SP chief criticised PM Modi for not fulfilling promises to bring about all-round development. He said, "Gujarat ke logon ko jhooth bolne ki aadat hai."(People from Gujarat are in habit of speaking lies) He further said that all the people who failed to deliver on their promises were corrupt in his eyes.

He also criticised PM Modi for making false promises on women empowerment. He also trained his guns at PM's ambitious Swachh Bharat campaign saying "real" cleanliness could only come through poverty alleviation. "Asli safai kya hai? Jhadu se asli safai nahi, gareebi hatane se asli safai hoti hai," Mulayam was quoted as saying in Times of India report.
Addressing the meeting, Mulayam also said that said that the laptops his party's government distributed in Uttar Pradesh aided Narendra Modi to win 2014 Lok Sabha polls. He said his party lost LS polls because people heard Modi's campaign speeches and saw his pictures and videos on the laptops the SP government has distributed.
