Gujarat riots: Order on Zakia Jafri’s plea scheduled for Dec 26

victim Zakia Jafri, the wife of former Congress MP Ehsaan Jafri killed in 2002 post-Gujarat riots, has been scheduled for December 26 by the court of metropolitan magistrate.

Jafri is contesting the SIT (Special Investigation Team) judgement, giving a clean chit to Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi in the riots.

Post arguments of 5 months, the pronouncement was deferred till December 2. Zakia has been seeking justice for husband Ehsan Zafri who was killed, along with 68 others

during the Gulbarg society massacre. Zakia Jafri, however, protested against the SIT report and filed a petition in April demanding rejection of report from the court and an order to file a chargesheet against Modi and the others involved in the Gujarat riots.
