Gujarat government didn't follow EC order on Modi: Congress

The party said Modi violated the Model Code of Conduct by displaying a paper lotus near a polling booth.
Congress general secretary Ajay Maken said the poll panel had given the state government time to file a first information report (FIR) till 6 p.m. Wednesday "but no action had been taken".
"We appeal to the Election Commission to ask the Gujarat government not to come under pressure of the chief minister," Maken told media persons here.
The Election Commission Wednesday instructed Gujarat authorities to lodge a police complaint against Modi, BJP's prime ministerial candidate, for displaying a paper lotus near a polling booth and violating the poll code.
